This is an original routine using the ‘paddle move’ and is recommended for both professional and amateur magicians who know the paddle move.
A spectator is shown a paper case with a wooden stirrer sticking out of it with the words, My Magic Wand written on the case. The magician takes the stirrer out of it and shows the spectator that no name on it cannot identify the owner of the magic wand.
The spectator is asked to write his first name on one corner of the stirrer. The magician says that the spectator is now the owner of the magic wand. But wait, the magician erases his name off the stirrer and moves his hand slowly over the blank stirrer and it turns into the magician’s first name, and he shows it on both sides and puts it into the case with his name showing!
The magician says, “It really is my magic wand,” and pockets the case.
The effect is staggering!
